Best Budget Tablets in India across various platforms

Our list of the Best Budget Tablets in India across various platforms. Top 10 Budget tablets are primarily based on Google Android OS. These Budget tablets are priced below Rs. 15,000. Click on the individual products to read detailed reviews.

iberry Auxus AX02

Comes with Android 4.0.3 ICS, 1GHz processor & 1GB RAM. It is the best budget android tablet in India.
MRP: Rs.9990

Mercury mTab Neo2

The budget tablet is well built, offers dual-core processing and a sim card slot
MRP: Rs.14999

The Mercury mTab Neo2 is a well-built tablet that offers some good specifications under the hood, especially the dual-core processor and a nice build. The absence of a volume rocker is missed but the addition of the SIM card slot makes the device capable of making calls as well as accessing data without a dongle sticking out of the device. For Rs. 15,000 it is a little difficult to recommend the Neo2, especially when you can get the iBerry Auxus AX02 for around Rs. 10,000 running ICS straight out of the box.

Micromax Funbook

This budget tablet scores high on design and graphics. Comes with 1.2GHz processor& Android 4.0 ICS
MRP: Rs.6499

The Micromax Funbook is the cheapest ICS budget tablet to hit the streets at Rs. 6,499. Its biggest compromise when compared to the competition is the build and the battery. The screen too is a bit disappointing. Having said that, this is the slimmest budget ICS tablet available today. The 1080p MP4 playback was smooth and games like Angry Birds Space and Pool Master ran well. If you are in the market to pick up a budget tablet and are on a really tight budget, you can consider the Micromax Funbook.

Zync Z990

This Budget Android tablet offers 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0 ICS.
MRP: Rs.8990

This is a budget tablet, and it clearly shows in the build quality, performance and even the display. But at this price, the real enticing factor is that it has ICS on-board. While there are a whole host of connectivity ports as well, but there is no getting away from the "budget" build quality.

Blackberry Playbook 16GB

Reduced pricing along with the new Blackberry OS makes the playbook a good tablet option for BB fans.
MRP: Rs.18199

Right now, the BlackBerry PlayBook is ideal for a BlackBerry smartphone user looking to purchase a tablet. This is mainly due to the BlackBerry Bridge sync option. However, even then we would advise potential buyers to wait it out till there is a respectable apps eco-system. Current apps in the App World are nothing to write home about. RIM had announced that Android apps would soon be ported to the BlackBerry App World, but that has yet to happen. The Wi-Fi data transfer option and ability to edit the Documents To Go app is a big plus point.

iBall Slide

We do not have a full review, but it won best performance in our comparison test, click for comparison
MRP: Rs.13,995

The Slide looks quite like the typical low-budget tablet that lacks the certain curvaceous styling like higher priced models, but still manages to come across as being neatly put together. The first thing you’ll probably notice is the lack of a rear camera, which is a bit of a downer seeing at a 2MP camera lens is staring at you in the face for video VoIP calling support. The 7-inch capacitive display is actually quite bright and the though resolution i.e. 800 x 480 is identical to the likes of the Beetel Magiq or the Reliance 3G Tab, images appear much sharper and colors a little more dense.

HCL Me U1 Tablet

This budget tablet offers good build,1GHz processor,1080p MP4 playback & full size USB port.
MRP: Rs.7999

On first impressions, the device is quite well built, at par with the competition if not better. The rear panel however feels flimsy near the ports and you get the feeling that you can wrench it out.The device has a glossy white finish making it a fingerprint magnet.
The front of the device has a 7-inch display that boasts of a resolution of 480x800. The front also has the 0.3MP camera and no physical buttons. Since ICS is an OS that displays all the necessary functions such as home, back and running apps on the screen all the time, there is no need for the device to have a physical back or home button. The absence of any buttons on the face of the device gives it a plain and clean look, which is nice. There is no rear-facing camera.

Reliance 3G Tab

The best advantage of this budget tablet is that it offers 3G connectivity along with voice support
MRP: Rs.12999

The most interesting thing about the Reliance 3G Tab is the price, undoubtedly. What this does is lowers the entry price barrier for branded tablets. We were pretty impressed by the performance in general. While it isn't a multimedia or gaming powerhouse, the 3G Tab does a bit of everything. Steady performance, good battery life and a surprisingly sleek form factor are some of the strong points of the Reliance 3G Tab. However, you do sacrifice on certain aspects, the display is average, touch response is not very fluid, and the camera results are poor. If the Rs 30000+ Android tablets are out of your budget, this may just be the right one to introduce you to the world of tablets.

Beetel Magiq Glide

It has standard specs- 1GHz Processor, 512 MB Ram & 8GB storage. Built-in stand is a unique feature.
MRP: Rs.11999

With the Magiq Glide, Beetel have a tablet that will take on the likes of the Reliance 3G Tab and ViewSonicViewPad 7e. Performance seems on par with the predecessor, but the upgrade to a capacitive touchscreen is the best thing that could have happened. However, you are paying extra for something that should've been there in the first place.

HCL ME X1 Tablet

The HCL ME X1 sports good build quality,1GHz processor, 1080p MP4 playback & Support for 3G USB dongle
MRP: Rs.10999

Overall, the HCL ME Tablet X1 is an average performer when compared to the competition in the same price range. The lack of the Google Play store is the biggest downer of this device. The lack of Bluetooth and a SIM card slot too is missed, as these are some of the features offered by the competition such as the Reliance 3G tab and the Beetle Magiq. The 1080p MP4 playback was smooth and games like Angry Birds Rio ran smoothly on the device. If you are in the market to pick up a tablet in the Rs. 10,000 you can consider this device keeping the above points in mind.
